The Metropolitan is very nice place. One standout is the lighting, everywhere (both public areas and the rooms)--someone paid attention to this, and as a result, you look good in every mirror you see (even the bathroom!). The servce was lovely--attentive but low key--with one exception: the concierge directed me to a very unappetizing Japanese restaurant called Tsunami. It looked like your run of the mill sushi factory and somewhat dirty. Luckily, the concierge at the Fairmount redirected us (even though we told him we weren't staying there) to a great place.
Got a great rate through Skoosh, but there is a huge construction project going on next door. Hotel management left an apologetic note, but I would have been extremely unhappy had I paid the rack rate, or even the usual market rate.
