We chose Curacao for our honeymoon. We booked a 7 day trip and stayed at the Hilton. The locals were rude and not very helpful. I guess they knew we were from the USA and messed with us. The street side café Curadise made us both extremely sick the last three days of our trip. The food is terrible and freaking expensive.
But if you like to dive and snorkel and aren't worried about hanging out in town then this is a place for you. And it is dirty as heck...you think they could keep a 48 mile long island clean for God's sake. They boast about abolishing slavery...but all of the workers seem to be slave to the visitors.
The Dolphin Academy was amazing also but again we were in the water. And the crime rate is insane. Every house and building is gated. Come on...tiny island...where does a thief have to run to?
CURACAO NEEDS A MAKEOVER! And it stinks like hell! All the locals and European tourists bathe in cologne to cover up their stench. YUCKY! We will never visit again
