Went for the first time for three days in August 2011 and definitely got a good taste of what the city has to offer, looking forward to returning. Did all the usual city highlights: Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Westminster Abbey and Westminster Cathedral, St. Paul's Cathedral, Tate Britain, National Gallery, British Museum, Oxford Street, Hyde Park, Harrods, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben & Houses of Parliament, Marble Arch, went for a ride in the iconic double decker bus and phone booths and went to the movies on Leicester Square. People were friendly and did not mind giving directions (pulling out their phones and showing us on Google maps), the public transport system is one of the best in the world, eating on a budget is very possible (Strada!) City felt safe and inviting. London simply is all that it's hyped up to be.
