Reviews Hotel Villa Saint Martin ***

Enjoyed this hotel. Staff at from desk were nice and spoke English. No problems with reservation and room was clean and ready when we arrived. Fairly easy walk from Gare de Nord -- and all down hill! Hop skip and jump from Gard del Est. Breakfast was very nice -- traditional French breakfast and some American standards as well. Room was comfortable and bathroom was clean -- although space was tight. Bed was great, we slept like a rock. Neighborhood nice, nice walks and places to eat and shop -- Would definitely stay again!

We would reccommend it. Rooms small but clean. Nice baths. Great breakfast. Very convenient to Gare de L'Est and the metro. Quiet, boutique hotel. Staff friendly and extremely helpful.

The hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient. It is positioned nearby two of the City's rail/train stations (Gard du Nord and Gard D'Lest) which made getting to, finding and exploring from very easy. The rates were very reasonable and breakfasts were included (which were both tasty and help to start our days off right). We would certainly stay there again. Thanks!

The room was typically small but very clean and modern. In-room wireless access is free and convenient, though not terribly fast or steady. But the St. Martin's proximity to the Gare de l'Est (a block away) and Gare du Nord make it an outstanding choice if you're coming in late or leaving early by rail to points to the north or east of Paris, or even just to Aeroport Charles de Gaulle. Too many of the other hotels in the immediate area seem able to compete on quality/value.

We were very pleased with the hotel. The rooms are very small but are neat, clean and modern. Staff was very helpful.They went out of their way to accomodate us--we had to leave Paris at 5:30 AM and although breakfast begins at 6:30, they made sure that we had coffee and rolls. Buffet breakfast was a bonus. The hotel is VERY convenient to transportation--a big plus.

Stayed five nights - first week of April 2008. 4 stars out of 5. The Hotel served all our needs in a convenient location to the Metro. We paid about $155 per night thru www.skoosh.com. Located near Gare d'Est train station, but not near tourist sites. Lots of good restaurants nearby - some reasonably priced. There's a close market for groceries and wine etc. Neighborhood is so-so (panhandlers). Rooms are clean but small. Choose the front or East end of building for bigger brighter better rooms, and high floor for quiet and view. Staff friendly and helpful and spoke good English. Elevator is a Disney ride. Rooms well kept and recently redone. Bathrooms modern and clean. Hotel has FREE but very slow wireless Internet. Morning breakfast was very convenient and much better than adequate - coffee, juice, rolls, meats, cheese, cereal, fruit mix, etc. Plenty of room and nice setting.

My daughter and I stayed two nights at Villa Saint Martin and were very pleased with all aspects of the hotel. Though the room (and bath) are small, they were well-equipped and comfortable. The continental breakfast was very convenient and a nice selection of breakfast items. The best part however was the staff which was welcoming and very helpful. I definitely recommend the hotel whether you are vacationing or traveling for business.

I don't know how Skoosh.com could offer such low rates, but the "street price" for this hotel (advertised in the lobby) was much higher. And it shows. The room is a good size by European standards, and the bathroom even had marble floor and walls. And the free wifi internet was a nice surprise (although I guess more and more hotels have it nowadays). Of course, you have to go to any French hotel with the right expectations: the tiny elevator and narrow hallways are expected.

We spent 4 nights at Villa Saint Martin. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. The room was was nice and clean with a private bathroom (shower before 10AM - water may be barely luke warm after everyone else uses the hot water). Breakfast (6AM to 10AM) was very good - eggs, cereal, cold meats, baggetts and croissants, juice and a variety of coffees. Location was close to Gare de l'Est metro station. Good deal and value during our February visit.

Centrally located in the 10th district of Paris less than 2 blocks from one of the exits to the Gare de L'est. Staff was very friendly, the included breakfast was excellent (more than the typically croissant+tea), and the rooms were clean and modern. The only negative thing I could think is that the showers were very very small.
