Spectacular Sliabh Liag (Slieve League) in County Donegal in the north-west of Ireland (Republic) faces the broad Atlantic ocean. You will reach it from Carrick on the Killybegs-Glencolmcille (various spellings!) road - left-hand turn in the middle of Carrick village. At 595 metres, it is the second highest sea cliffs in Ireland (the highest is in Achill) and the sixth highest in Europe. A truly spectacular place to visit. Expect rain or a shower most days of the year, and remember that the hills are windier than places at sea level: be sensible, remember the power of the mighty Atlantic. Please take time to enjoy this spectacular place whose people retain old courtesies and customs and the old language. This entire peninsula from Killybegs via Kilcar, Carrick, Teelin, Glencolmcille and Ardara is a place to linger. It is a spiritual place with a people as vibrant and lively as the landscape is beautiful and austere. The light is superb. The music is extraordinary. Enjoy!
