10/25/2008 Wie veel in Italie komt, weet wat authentiek Italiaans betekent: zeer bescheiden (functionele, lelijke) inrichting, bijzonder gastvrije gastheren, heerlijk eten en een prachtige omgeving! Wij hebben ervan genoten, 2 weken lang, goede uitvalsbasis voor het strand en dagtripjes. Prachtig museum op het landgoed, en ook een restaurant waar je prima kan eten in voor NL vooroorlogse prijzen. Weg is niet druk, van chemicalieen geen spoor, mis je dingen in de keuken, vraag er dan gerust om: Maria en Giovanni doen alles om het naar je zin te maken!

05/15/2008 We stayed here in May 2008 with a baby and an 8 year old. Gorgeous property with a view of the smoking and white capped Etna. Plain interior. Clean and tidy though. 1 Bedroom but with 3 or 4 beds in it. A bed settee for 2 people in the kitchen/living room. No kitchen equipment. The owners only speak an Italian dialect but help out where they can. To visit other places you have to drive on curvy little roads for at least 45 minutes. Gorgeous, rural area with small sleepy mountain villages without any touristic madness. Breakfast was simple but good and once the owner cooked a 4 course meal for a group of guests and in exchange for a small amount of money you could join them. The swimming pool is small and was still cold because the just filled it. Nice little playground for children up to 6. Not a lot for older children. Big disadvantage: no garden furniture. 1 Week was long enough.

05/01/2008 Very little kitchen equipment which made cooking almost impossible. At the wine company belonging to the accommodation they treated everything with many pesticides; everything (swimming pool, sun beds, car and playing equipment) was covered with it and everything smelled of it as well sometimes. Directly along the secondary road with a lot of traffic noise. The housekeeper is kind. Breakfast available after paying extra.
