Pienza is declared Unesco World Heritage Centre because of the impressive lay-out of the town and the perfect state it has always been since it was designed. Today Pienza is a very active and attractive town, and is visited by many tourists. Not only because of the historical value, the splendid architecture, but also for the great view on the Val d'Orcia, the cosy centre and the many interesting shops. Quite some sell pecorino cheese, the local speciality, and great wines from the region like Brunello and Vino Nobile de Montepulciano, but also many artistic crafsmen have settled in Pienza. Whes it comes to nightlife there is as good as nothing, but for many this is also part of the big charm of Pienza. After the closing hour of the many good ristorante in town there is only one thing left: to bed.
