We stayed in the Hotel Kette prior to a cruise. The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. The room was lovely and comfortable and overlooked a canal, but was still quiet and dark -- important for jet lagged visitors. The room was on the third floor, but 2 elevators eliminated the hassle. The hotel was easy to find and very convenient to St. Mark's square and the water bus stop. The neighborhood had a lovely old European vibe, especially after dark (which was 4:30 p.m.) The breakfast room was small, but the food was very good. The hotel prices in Venice are steep, but we felt this was a comparatively good value. We would definitely stay there again.
