een paar restaurants, 1 supermarkt, 3 winkels en een mooi zandstrandje. Dat is Halfmoon Bay. Prima om 3 dagen te wandelen, er zijn vele routes uitgestippeld. Bij het informatiecentrum kun je kaartjes kopen van de omgeving. Schitterend eiland!

Halfmoon Bay/Oban is de enige plaats op Stewart Island. Hier zit dus wat je nodig hebt: accommodatie, eten, supermarkt, toerist-informatie etc. Het is erg klein en simpel, men komt hier voor de natuur en niet om te shoppen! Veel wandelroutes dus en excursiemogelijkheden gerelateerd aan flora/fauna. Een prachtig eiland.
