06/25/2009 Great location if historic location is important. Hotel public interiors are very attractive and modern. The computer with Internet at no cost was most helpful. Though our room was not ready for an early Sunday morning check-in, our luggage was stored for us. When we returned a little before 2pm, the room was still not ready and we were offered a drink on the house while we waited. The front desk associate noticed that our reservation requested a king bed and she said she ‘changed our room’ accordingly. In addition to a refrigerator and CD player there was a large marble bath. French doors from the bath and bedroom opened onto a balcony which overlooked the square and a bit of water view. Breakfast was better and more varied than many online reports of what to expect in Portugal. We found the food to be excellent along with the service.
