Playa del Ingles is not a place you come to for the museums, theatre and high culture. It's a place for sun, clubbing and fun, and it exceeds expectations in those departments. Go to a drug store, perfumes and creams are about 60% of the normal UK/NL price! People are very nice, though the English is terrible for those outside (and even some inside) the tourist industry. It's not a picturesque destination, but, thanks to flowers, palm trees and freshly painted hotels, it's not ugly either. It's very easy to navigate and safe for pedestrians, cabs are cheap, buses are reliable and comfortable. Ideal for day trips: go to Puerto Rico for a boat trip, to Puerto de Mogan for a photogenic village, to Las Palmas for shopping and culture. Beach is amazing, beautiful sand, clean, spacious, sand dunes are great for (power)walking. USE SUNCREEN! Fairly large nudist area on beach, but only within limits. Yumbo center great for gay nightlife. Didn't encounter any crime, felt very safe.
