We stayed one night at the Waves motel. The checkin process was quick and friendly. Once checked in however we were directed to the parking area for our building (H) and discovered that all the spots were full. After parking across the road I went back to the lobby and they went out and check the cars in the lot and within 10 miinutes, three spots opened up. The room was clean but clearly well used. Old Orchard beach is a very busy place with lots of walking traffic, probably an excessive amount of alcohol consumption, and with the proximity of the Amtrak railroad tracks within 30' or so of the "H" building, it's probably not the best choice for someone seeking a serene , idyllic spot on the Maine coast. OOB is a resort town and has all the benefits and negatives associated with such a place.
