I had an absolutely abhorring experience here, this "hotel" is scary dangerous and unsafe! I booked 15 nights and by day 1 I was continually harassed catcalled etc with degrading remarks BY HOTEL EMPLOYEES! I filed a report with "security" who was untrustworthy and physically pushed me around. Some of my belongings are missing and they are no help. Please be safe and don't stay here! I have not been refunded for the unused portion of my stay and surprise surprise they're being completely uncooperative. STAY AWAY!!

Hotel Riviera.. What should I say, what can you expect for 30 dollars per night? Well, I thought the least I could expect was a friendly smile from the staff, and a tidy room. Unfortunately this was not the case. It was a horrible place, the staff really is NOT FRIENDLY! Especially not the congierge desk, what a bunch of miserable people. Don't go to the hair dresser as well which is located in the hotel, it's a rip off. Just for shaving my head, they charged me 35 dollars. I would like to thank Robie, the 'life guard', she was outstanding and was making our stay a pleasure! The Afghan waiter in the buffet restaurant was great too! I would recommend the rest of the staff to learn from those two people, they know how hospitality works..

No more Riviera for me. Blegh..

I have never stayed at this hotel and for the price I would stay there again! The only thing is the parking - the parking structure, depending on where your rooms are, is kind of pain; and the valet has very limited spaces so it fills up quickly.

If you're trying to be frugal then this is the place. The rooms have been renovated quite nicely. but, the penthouse, of all things, is vintage 1985 including the sound system and the vcr (no DVD) with a "big Screen" rear projection blur. The only thing you really need to get past is that the entire staff's average age is 55, including the cocktail waitresses in skimpy outfits. WHoa!

The Riviera is a classic "old school" Vegas hotel and casino, in fact, many credit it with creating the standard for what a hotel and casino could be...in the 1950's. Rooms were adequate, food was pretty good (but expensive), but it was without many of the perks for which Vegas has become synonymous. The hotel is stranded on the northern end of the strip, separated from places like the Bellagio and Venetian by about a mile of new construction...which means a hefty cab fare to travel to where the action is. Crazy Girls (a classic topless revue) was similarly tired but worth every penny I spent (I had a comp ticket). The "La Cage" and "Ice" shows had long lines, but these shows are what Vegas has been offering for years...nothing new. If you're in town and on a budget, the Riviera is a safe (if tired) bet.
